This is a problem with the genre itself. Anyone thinks they can do science fiction. In truth hardly anyone’s been able to.
It’s really true, and probably the largest source of my disgust with him. I hate the implication that someone says, “I wish you’d make something for children!” and he answers, “Yeah, like I’ll just whip off some science fiction real quick, it’ll be awesome!”
