Zombie Jesus! We were wondering where you'd gotten off to. My current gas-range apartment is the first time I've rented and not had to wrestle with the horror that is electric. But still, it's true: one of my biggest kitchen irritations is lifting out all the iron trivets and cleaning around the inset areas. Also: not being rich. That's a big kitchen irritation. We hates electric burners. It was the coolest part of the car and was really only good and showing other people because for a passing light it was glacially slow. I'm of a conviction that anything retractable is about as futuristic as we'll ever get. If flying cars are the dream, a cooking surface that retracts when cool is the reality.
