The Ford Leva just made me dribble orange juice down my face.

Zombie Jesus! We were wondering where you'd gotten off to.

My current gas-range apartment is the first time I've rented and not had to wrestle with the horror that is electric. But still, it's true: one of my biggest kitchen irritations is lifting out all the iron trivets and cleaning around the inset areas. Also: not being rich. That's a big kitchen irritation.

I was always kind of afraid of gas stoves ('splodey!) until we moved to the house we live in now, and now I can do nothing but marvel at how I don't have to physically remove something from a burner in order to discontinue the cooking process, and I can just sort of eyeball a vast range of flame levels to prefect-ify my frying/simmering/searing/what-have-you efforts. We hates electric burners.

Okay me droogies and Gmu Spacebuddies 3000, I've been getting about 3 hours sleep every night for a week ... so here's my first observation:
Tilt yer lil' pointy heads to view the stove top sideways. Is that the coolest Ion-drive, intergalactic starship (engine fired and shutdown views) you've ever fuckin' seen?
kthanx, bai

I had an '87 Subaru wagon that's "passing" like was a retractable -50 watt bulb hidden behind the Subaru bezel on the grill. It was the coolest part of the car and was really only good and showing other people because for a passing light it was glacially slow.

I'm of a conviction that anything retractable is about as futuristic as we'll ever get. If flying cars are the dream, a cooking surface that retracts when cool is the reality.
